O, Draconian devil! Oh, lame saint!

Yepp you got it write. This one's about Leonardo Da Vinci - The Mona Lisa. Anyone who's read the Da Vinci Code or seen the movie remembers the title which was left by the curator of Le Louvre for our famous hero Robert Langdon.

Mona Lisa (also known as La Gioconda) is a 16th century portrait painted in oil on a poplar panel by Leonardo Da Vinci during the Italian Renaissance. The work is owned by the French government and hangs in the Musée du Louvre in Paris, France with the title Portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo.

The painting is a half-length portrait and depicts a woman whose expression is often described as enigmatic The ambiguity of the sitter's expression, the monumentality of the half-figure composition, and the subtle modeling of forms and atmospheric illusionism were novel qualities that have contributed to the painting's continuing fascination. Few other works of art have been subject to as much scrutiny, study, mythologizing and parody.

They say the Mona Lisa is smiling. There have been numerous discussions throughout the years that the Mona Lisa is smiling and why is she smiling etc.

My one question to everyone who reads this is - Agreed that The Mona Lisa is smiling.... but is she really happy?

A few day's ago I saw the Movie Mona Lisa Smile. It really shows us how one person can make a difference. It's one of the best performances of Julia Roberts. It's about how she an art professor teaches students to think out of the box as we might call it in a male dominated society of the 50's and 60's. The above question was also asked by one of the students during the movie and there is no answer that I have heard of till now.
